Drum Clinic

This year's drum clinic will specialize in latin and hand percussion. This clinic is open to anyone regardless of whether or not you are a drummer. We just need to know a basic head count to have enough instruments for everyone!
The drum clinic will take place the week of July 7-10 with times to be told later.
Guitar Clinic
Last year's Guitar Clinic brought a real rock musician into the Andersen house. Everyone had fun learning about how to "riff" on the guitar as well as recording some lead lines. The week also brought guitar player in who talked specifically about electric pedals and the different functions of them. Lastly, Chris devoted an entire night to the maintenance and care of the guitar. This clinic provides a great opportunity to cover aspects of the instrument that are hard to cover in a half hour lesson once a week.
The sky is the limit with the guitar clinic. You never know who will pop in for a session so you have to be here every night!
The guitar clinic will take place July 7-10 times will be given later.... :)
Summer Music Camp
This year at SMC, we will take a different approach than in the past 2 years. To coincide with the June Composer Camp, we will be studying the 4 periods of music. Each day will be devoted to one of the periods.
Students will learn about the periods, i.e. what the music sounded like, what instruments specifically went with the period, who the major composers were, etc.
Each day, we will work in a workbook that they will be able to take home at the end of the week to give them a reference for the music periods as they continue on their music education.
Snacks, crafts, and games will make this experience one that they will never forget and gain actual knowledge at the same time.
It will be offered from 9:30-12 the week of July 7-10
ROCK SCHOOL!!!

Wanna take the skills you've been learning in individual lessons and see how they work with a whole band? Rock School does exactly that. By far, the most talked about camp/clinic that MusicTime offers, Rock School will take place in two different time slots during the week of June 15-19.
The first one will be from 3-5 and the second one from 6-8
We encourage everyone to participate in one of them. They are lots of fun and build friendships that last a long time. What better way to make new friends than to make music with them for a week?
Composer Camp

From Bach to John Williams we will look at composer's lives and work. We will pick a composer to do projects on through out the week and present the project on Friday to everyone who attends.
Students will go home with a book that they have made themselves to remind them of all the composers that they have learned about.
Students will have the opportunity to become composers themselves as we all will write, and record our original pieces.
